Producer Notes

In the glass, the wine is intense, brooding, and ruby-black in color. The nose is crammed with dark cherry, smoky blue fruits, marzipan, and a little sea salt. Three hours in the decanter and glass barely show this wine's potential. It is bold and intense on the palate with flavors of plum, macerated black cherry, sweet nectarine, and cassis, with blackberry jam on the finish. This wine is well poised for beautiful drinking but will require patience. The concentration is there; the wine is massive.

Drinking really well right now. To be able to pnp a 2003 in 2014 shows the structure of this beauty. fruit bomb with vanilla flavors. Smooth silky tannins. Highly recommended.

Deep deep dark ruby red, nose of big berries, red, black and blue. Amazing well integrated tannins with a long, long finish. 95+ pts. An absolutely great wine. Yankees win 5-4 over sox.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
