As one of the first vineyards in the Eola Hills, Bethel Heights is a true Oregon wine pioneer. Five family members have owned and operated the property since 1978, with twin brothers Ted and Terry Casteel heading up vineyard management and winemaking duties, respectively. A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
