Lack luster and un refined. Overly tannic with no fruit.

Nose of black fruit and berries. Deep rouge color. Very traditional Napa Cab. Just delicious. Enjoyed with BBQ Lamb chops. Wow. I did decant it 1.5 hours before serving.

Opaque mauve in color, this Silver Oak offering hits your nose hard with big berry aromas and hints of old leather and even slighter hints of black licorice. The wine is fruit forward yet still maintains its "dryness" with flavors of sandalwood and cranberry on the mid-palate. The wine has a medium to long finish with lingering oak, forest floor, and musty flavors.

Product Notes: 2003 Silver Oak Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 750ml "Full-bodied, chewy, and muscular with an inky dark ruby/plum color, and hints of wood smoke, tobacco, cinnamon, espresso roast, and herbs, this dense, chewy, lavishly oaked wine should drink well for 10-12 years."Robert Parker 93 "The 2003 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a complex and concentrated wine that deftly balances intensity and finesse. The wine has a dark garnet color with a deep purple edge, and displays aromas of blackberry jam, dark chocolate, rose petal, black pepper and cedar. In the mouth, the attack is quite rich, expressing notes of brown sugar and nutmeg, and the flavors proceed seamlessly to a long finish of fruit and ripe tannins. Properly cellared, this wine should give drinking pleasure until 2027." Daniel Baron, Winemaker

Most unique taste at the Cali wine experience with minty vanilla flavors. Less pronounced this time, but still present in the lingering finish. A cabernet like no other (margarine on Wonder bread according to one person at our table)

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
