Recently enjoyed this for my birthday at local French Restaurant French 75 in Laguna Beach. This is the reason you hold on to Chardonnay. The nose had started to lean toward some secondary aromas such as nuttiness and sweet wood. The fruit was still driving with baked pineapple and lemon merengue. Acidity is shining but in great balance. I immensely enjoyed this fun yet decadent purchase with Lobster claw over sage brown butter gnocchi.

A big smoky nose with raw wood and lemon custard scents. Plushly textured with excellent length. Acidity is quite high but not objectionably so ? some time in the cellar will help the wine pull all of its facets including its prominent acidity together.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
