Harsh tannins and burnt cherries
were my impressions for the first ~2 hours. After that the wine really opened up, the tannins soften and we were left with soft berry fruits, very nice. But clearly needs plenty of time to breath.
Inky garnet color. Strong graphite and oak on the nose. Opening is full bodied lush dark fruit, some spice, pepper and oak. Full mouth feel with long finish but not as tight as I suspected tannins/acid have diminished producing a hedonistic fruity, oaky gem. 55% Cabernet sauvignon, 40% merlot 5% cabernet franc. Average age of vines 30 years.
