To my surprise it has been almost one year since I last tasted this wine. Compering with the older notes, I think the wine now has a much more open nose, but the main focus is still on fruit and flowers; cherries, sweet red "cocktail berries", warm spice, roses and violets, with some hints of the tobacco theme. Elegant and complex. In the mouth the feel is lovely with balanced and refreshing acids. The body is medium full, still it fills the mougt completely. The barbaresco taste sticks in the mouth for a long time, but the tannic punch has changed into a pleasing dryness. I love this wine, but it might not be one for the long cellar haul?

Lovely complex nose with red berries, violets and flowers. Mineral. Palate has stunning balance, very nice concentration and such elegance. There is really no point in waiting with this wine, just enjoy it. Balance here is flirting with perfection. Medium finish. EDIT: Day two, fruit is a bit more dried out without adding any notable complexity, leading me to believe this should be drunk direct from bottle and within 5 years. But what a wine!

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
