Tamarack Cellars was founded in 1998 by winemaker Ron Coleman in Walla Walla, Washington. Production is focused on small quantities of red wine: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah. Made in what I would call the California style, yet with 13.5% listed on the label, this has rich, rich fruit and soft, succulent tannins in a fairly full-bodied yet not blockbuster wine. Fruit forward, this offers blackberry compote aromas with hints of cream and smoky brush. On the palate it is soft and creamy, with minor hints of spicy bell pepper to the full blackberry and currant compote flavors. This is a full blown yet not overblown wine that is still young and rambunctiously fruity, with soft yet firm tannins underneath. Definitely has time left to develop.

med red cherry, slightly sweet aromas and cherry pie flavors, one dimensional in structure. For 30 bucks there are better choices
