As auction prices fluctuate from auction to auction and some wines have limited auction activity, the average auction price is updated twice a month and derived from a proprietary algorithm.

His back-alley Ventura winery, dubbed the "garage d'or," has been described as "a junkyard (or the first or second level of hell)" and compared to a set from the movie "Mad Max" by Robert Parker. Drink Dates 2013-2023

2002 Numbers/Letters: Still very young, fresh and lively, with plenty of sweet and sour cherry notes intermixed with blacker currants, pepper, forest floor, spice box and some toasty oak, this wine is medium to full-bodied, fleshy, rich, still quite young, and seems very backward and a different style of Grenache than anything produced in the vintages that followed. I would forget this wine for at least another 2-3 years and drink it over the following decade. It is a blend of 80% Grenache and 20% Syrah.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
