Drink Dates 2007-2015

Bright ruby with a good claret appearance and depth of colour. Sweet and strong blackcurrant on the nose with pungent acidity and sweet wood shavings. Tastes of sweet black fruits, leather, creamy notes, minerals, coffee beans and a good length. Good acidity and tannin leading to a sticky/chewy wine with good body. This bottle was much better than the first one that I had and, based on this experience, I would buy more and give more room for improvement with a little aging.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
