A reticent nose offers earthy hints (leather, dirt), though the palate comes through with more verve, offering mulberries and damson plum, green tea, leather and some earthy accents. Moderate tannins have found a nice equilibrium with the medium- to full-bodied palate, and a fair dose of acidity keeps it lively, finishing with a chocolate kick. Not as concentrated as hoped, but there is still stuffing to be had, though it tastes on the tail end of its curve.
