2002 Darioush - Cabernet Sauvignon Signature Cabernet Sauvignon - USA - California - Napa - Napa Valley - Red
Like all the vintages tasted from this winery, the 2002 shows nice concentration in the nose, with densely packed black fruit and hints of cocoa and java. The palate is centered on pure blackberry and dark cherry flavors with smooth tannins that suggest notes of spicy citrus and mineral on the finish.

A medium garnet color with oak, herbs, and plum in the nose. Smooth with nice fruit flavors tinged with some herbaceousness. Softly structured ? this wine is not a long distance runner. 85% Cabernet with 10% Merlot, 2% Franc, and 1.5% each of Petit Verdot and Malbec that was aged entirely in new French oak primarily sourced from the Tron?ais forest. Fruit was de-stemmed and given a four-day cold soak prior to beginning fermentation. Bottled unfiltered.
A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
