Auction prices are based on actual auction results (inclusive of buyerÂ’s premiums) of 750ml bottle sizes only. As auction prices fluctuate from auction to auction and some wines have limited auction activity, the average auction price is updated twice a month and derived from a proprietary algorithm.

Drink Dates 2012-2020

A lovely and elegant expression of Etna Rosso, this starts with cherry and mineral notes with a lactic edge then explodes on the palate, offering deep and savory cherry, red berry and hints of herbs. A long finish shows mineral. Despite the light color, this is medium- to full-bodied and finishes with a dry note, asking for food.

Drink Dates 2012-2015

This 2002 "Etna Rosso" has only been released now, in 2012, because it needed 10 years to get to the point where it can really be enjoyed. Make sure you decant it, it will open up beautifully and please you. It reminds me of an elegant pinot noir with thee complexity of a nice burgundy.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
