I picked up a case of this several years back on the recommendation of a friend. This is the first bottle I have tried and, frankly, I was blown away by this little gem. It is drinking extremely well with nearly a perfect balance of fruit and tannin but I suspect could age a wee bit longer still and still be wonderful. Subtle oak on the nose, lots of berry and some vanilla. A real surprise that would hold it's own with it's Bordeaux cousins.

A very good, if not memorable, wine. Soft tannins, rounded fruit, easy to drink red with enough backbone to stand up to grilled meats. Overall, good value and drinkable now.

Consistent notes with my last tasting: Jammy blackberry, mocca and casis flavors on the palate. Long finish. this is a solid California Cabernet.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
