Good, not great. Expected better but maybe it needed a longer decant.

During the Dolan's reunion get together we pulled out some Heitz Napa after the Caymus Napa but before others. The Heitz is a great value! The 1999 and the 2001 had good structure weight, color and clarity. Of the wines we drank (12 in all) the Heitz 1999 was the best. I can only say both were good, favorful and could be cellared longer. Great value for anyone wanting to cellar wine that does not cost more than $40.

An open and airy nose of mint, light oak, and cherry. Very mature tasting in the mouth with drying tannin and good acidity. Where?s the fruit? 100% Cabernet aged for one year in American oak tanks and then two years in French oak barrels.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
