Duckhorn Cabs from the barrel never show well to me so I suspect the wine may perform better from bottle. This sample had good color and a nose of diffuse red fruits and herbs. The wine finished quite short despite its attractive moderately concentrated fruit flavors.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
