Auction prices are based on actual auction results (inclusive of buyerÂ’s premiums) of 750ml bottle sizes only. As auction prices fluctuate from auction to auction and some wines have limited auction activity, the average auction price is updated twice a month and derived from a proprietary algorithm.

We drinked this Brunello on New Year's Eve. We opened a couple of hours before dinner and decanted. Initially it was a little too cold and lacked oxygen. Over night at the right temperature and when it started breathing it became an excellent wine to accompany our meat dishes. Mild tannins, intense aroma and flavour and long finish.

good, but not great. Nice fruit and decent finish. Seemed ready to drink now.

Huge chewy tannins and exceptionally dark crimson in color. Very long finish, would have benefited from a few more years of aging, but this 2001 single vineyard Montosoli was a great comparison to the 1990 Argiano and 1990 Talenti we drank that night also.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
