Well - apart from having the worst cork experience (hands down), the wine was a little baked. I think it had inadvertently been stored incorrectly or maybe been used as a "prop" bottle for a while before I accidentally got it. It was like it had prematurely matured! Lot's of dried fruit roll up qualities, which I am unsure if that is a good thing. Dried figs and prunes were the overall impressions. Some earthy spice too... Overall fairly plain but decent. Will see how this compares to 2nd bottle

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
