Producer Notes

Comte de Vogue is often considered the greatest wine estate in Chambolle-Musigny. It traces its history back to 1450 and amazingly, after 20 generations, the same family still runs the show. At the Acker 2000 and 2001 Burgundy Grand Cru Tasttng on 10/29. Dsark red, purplish with a strong sweet kirchy nose. Unlike the 2000, this is not as sweet on the palate, but more nuanced and will need more time to come into its own. currently it is lighter in the mouth, with a shorter finish. I will try again in 5 years or so. All bottles opened 3 hours before drinking and drank over 2 hours.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
