Auction prices are based on actual auction results (inclusive of buyerÂ’s premiums) of 750ml bottle sizes only. As auction prices fluctuate from auction to auction and some wines have limited auction activity, the average auction price is updated twice a month and derived from a proprietary algorithm.

Drink Dates 2014-2014

Popped and poured. Color of dark red with just a hint of orange/brown at the rim - would not guess this to be a CA Cab of 13 years. Upon opening some musty aromas, but those blew-off within 30 minutes. Mature nose of black fruits, prune, and some mushroom. Flavors initially bright as the acidity upon entry lifts the wine. The mid-palate and finish are beginning to fall apart. I had forgotten this bottle in the cellar; should have drunk this bottle 3-5 years ago.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
