Wow is amazing how young this wine are...looks like, smells and tastes as 2007 Reserve. It definitely although can be approcable with decanting it will be interesting to see it in couples of years and shall lasts to 2028 easily.

A prodigious wine...this from a magnum...still 5-7 years from maturity but with so much pleasure and potential in reserve. hold/drink with aeration.

Celebrated wife's first full marathon with this and two 20 0z. bone in rib eyes for dinner. Should have decanted. Closed for the first two hours. Fruit started to come out after that. Bordeaux like nose, nice acidity and lots of tannins left. Much better with food, will wait a few more years to open my other bottle as this seems have many years left in it.

Deep inky purple core with brickish rim variation. Clean complex bouquet of dark fruit, earth and violets. Dry intense palate of black currant, mineral, truffles and prominent oak spices. Medium acid, long finish and a bit hot on opening that improved with airing. This is very well made oakville classic cab made in the style that makes it so sought after.

Color: Dark core, red edges, still youthful Nose & Palate: Black cherry, currants, some cassis and trademark pencil lead from the To Kalon. Nicely complex. The aromas come through on the palate. Rich, but subtle. Showing great balance. Great acidity, almost no oak influence in the wine.

Drink Dates 2008-2010

A little light in color for a cab. Strong nose of fruit, earth, leather, oak, and almost wet stone. The mouthfeel makes this wine as the tannins are gone and it's pure velvet on hte tongue. The fruit is optimal right now but not overpowering as the oak softens everything. There's a bit of spice (even Adele commented) that makes this really interesting. Light for a cab, medium bodied. Almost Bordeaux-like.

A reticent nose of milk chocolate, cherry, and earth. More powerful in the mouth with dusty cherry and earth flavors. Well balanced with integrated acids and tannins. 88% Cabernet, 10% Franc, 1% Malbec, 1% Petit Verdot sourced from To Kalon Vineyard in Oakville and Wappo Hill Vineyard in Stags Leap. The winery?s marketing materials claim that the wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered after 16 months aging in 100% new French oak. Interestingly, Genevieve Janssens, Mondavi?s Director of Winemaking told me the wine was filtered so that it would be stable. Perhaps she was mistaken ? but I really doubt that.
