Silver Oak was founded in the early 1970s by Ray Duncan and Justin Meyer, a former winemaker with Christian Brothers. "The 2000 Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley is a medium-bodied, soft, attractive effort with plenty of herbaceousness along with notes of figs, plums, and red currants. Made in an up-front style, it begs to be drunk over the next 7-8 years."

Consummed because of being at the outside of the drink dates. While perhaps true, wine drank very nicely.

Drink Dates 2005-2008

Good color with an oaky nose containing milk, game, and strawberry aromas. A bit thin on the palate but what is there is fairly plush. Tannins are smooth and integrated despite the oakiness that comes through in the aromas and flavors of the wine. As always, a serviceable Cabernet. 100% Cabernet aged for 25 months in American oak (50% new and 50% once-used).
