While this was bought on release and properly stored, this wine clearly was over the hill. Nice nose, not corked, but tasting thin and acidic. No fruit left.

1.5L aromatics are exceptional! also very good in mouth, blackcherry, smooth tannins and nice finish and somehow depth. Very satisfying.

Francois Mitjaville of the St. Emilion powerhouse, Ch?teau Le Tertre Roteboeuf, runs this estate. Roc de Cambes is a trustworthy estate and can always be counted on to deliver solid if not exceptional value. The 2000 is a beautifully rendered wine. Attractive aromas of spice, hickory smoke, and dark fruits. Quite plush on the palate with persistent flavors.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
