I tend to side with Mr. Parker on this one as per description. I am giving it 97 points. I do not care what any other score is, for this is Palmer's best ever period.

Full colour. This is very lovely. Ripe and rich, velvety and harmonious, complex and profound on the nose. Fullish body. Bery good grip. Very good tannins. Backward. Very, very elegant, complex flavours. Very complex and harmonious. Lovely long finish. (Score is actually 18.5 out of 20.)

The wine?s cepage is 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, and 5% Cabernet Franc. A big but focused superlative wine. This is what classified growth Bordeaux is all about. The nose offers up paper, dark fruits, and muted oak. Huge mouth staining fruit and oak. Rather monolithic at present but what potential. The wine is beautifully balanced and shows incredible length in its finish. Needs at least 15 years to shine.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
