Low US Retail is updated twice a month and excludes outlier listings. Detailed listings are sourced daily from our partner, Global Wine Stocks, and may include outliers. Note that you can use the 'Report a problem' link which appears after clicking on any individual listing to notify our content team and partner of incorrect wine matches.

Auction prices are based on actual auction results (inclusive of buyerÂ’s premiums) of 750ml bottle sizes only. As auction prices fluctuate from auction to auction and some wines have limited auction activity, the average auction price is updated twice a month and derived from a proprietary algorithm.

Drink Dates 2003-2015

Bottle opened for about 2h, no decant. This was drinking very nicely... Classic nose of tobacco and cassis. Medium to full bodied on the palate with a smooth and very balanced finish. Really smooth tannins. Seems to be at its peak but definitely not over the hill... Paired perfectly with duck leg confit.

Deep purple in color. Cedar on nose and showing sweet blueberry tannins. Probably near it's peak.

This wine could easily be mistaken as hailing from California rather than Bordeaux. The new wave high shouldered/sloped bottle only makes the potential confusion more apt to occur. (The new bottle truly looks hideous and can'tbe winning Perse any friends from the Bordeaux old guard.) 60% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. A huge nose of toasty oak, spice, and dark fruits. Thick and rich in the mouth with significant tannin. A big blowsy Loni Anderson kind of wine. You would be well served to save a ton of cash and buy the '98 or '99 Monbousquet rather than the 2000. Both of those vintages are better than this wine ? the 2000 is coming dangerously close to caricature.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
