A surprise winner in a blind tasting of 2000 Bordeaux that included Palmer, Ducru & Lalande. Intense cooked cherry aroma with tobacco scents as well. Great balance for both acidity and tannins. Drinks well now but, will continue to evolve.

Vivid aromas of blackberries and minerals, with a hint of flowers. Full-bodied, with a solid core of fine tannins and ripe fruit. Medium finish. This is the best La Louvière in years. Best after 2009. 11,665 cases made. 'JS

A workmanlike Bordeaux that provides decent but uninspiring drinking. Deeply colored with moderate aromas of earth, some oak, roasted herbs, anise, and slightly sour black fruits. Nicely polished tannins with adequate acidity. The wine tastes mainly of herbs and oak. In a word: boring.
