Nice floral and spice notes. Pleasant flavors, but may have been hurt a bit by a bad food pairing (the lemon spaetzle didn't work at all well...)

Pleasing nose with cassis and leather, well structured with good acidity and a good dose of fruit slightly over influenced by the tannins. An array of complex nuances that swirl around on the palate but leads into a dry finish overpowered by its tannins and acidity. May improve with a few more years.

Had a 375ML at Masa's in San Francisco last night. Decanted for about an hour before I tried it. Was a bit tight at first but opened up well. Could still use a couple years in the bottle but it was fantastic nonetheless.

Earthy and old-world style. Very complex and somewhat backward. A Classic!

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
