Consistent notes. Med.-dark ruby to mahogany color; full nose of black fruit, haberdashery, & spice; similar flavors with additional notes of camphor, raspberries and a hint of mushrooms; very good concentration, complexity, and balance; good acid level brings vibrancy; soft integrated tannins; lovely long finish. An excellent Cote Rotie that is now fully mature but will hold for several years.

The bouquet on this wine was far better than the taste for me. The nose exhibited wonderful aromas of leather, cigar box and cassis. The taste was rather uneventful and a bit tart in the back end. In all, not memorable for the price.
A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
