Auction prices are based on actual auction results (inclusive of buyerÂ’s premiums) of 750ml bottle sizes only. As auction prices fluctuate from auction to auction and some wines have limited auction activity, the average auction price is updated twice a month and derived from a proprietary algorithm.

This is at its peak. A delicious mature Chateauneuf. Elegant red berry fruit accented by hints of raspberry and strawberry preserves. Baking spices and rose petals add to the complexity. A wonderfull soft, supple mouthfeel leads to a silky smooth finish.

Made from thirty year old vines, this wine?s cepage consists of 80% Grenache, 10% Syrah, and 5% each of Mourvedre and Cinsault. Medium purple red color with an attractive full nose of sandalwood, mint, sage, pepper, green stems, and leather. The wine?s bouquet is quite enticing at present. On the palate, high acidity and prominent tannins dominate with some light rather desiccated fruit peeking through. The wine turns a touch bitter on the finish.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
