($106) Vivid gold. Pungent citrus blossom, pear and subtle lees on the nose, with a suave tangerine quality building with air. Plush and silky but at the same time energetic, with vibrant quince and soft citrus flavors supported by a racy mineral underpinning. Fleshes out on the long, precise finish, which is deepened by a gently toasty leesiness.

It is far too soon to predict the future prospects of this wine with any certainty, since the experience at present is characterised by tough, hard, undeveloped youth. In the midst of the stone dust there is a lovely oiliness that is typical of the vintage, and that is going to dominate this wine later on. Store for a long time.

Graphite, ginger, toast and coffee aromas and flavors indicate maturing character. There's harmony, finesse and intensity, with a firm structure that should allow this to continue developing.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
