Phenomenonal wine...probably drinking at peak. Terrific nose, rich raspberry and vanilla, great-long finish. A first growth California Bordeaux.

Consumed at wine tasting. (1st flight was horizontal, comparing 1994 CA Bordeaux blends. 2nd flight was vertical, comparing different Dominus vintages. This wine was the youngest in the 2nd flight.) Color: Brick red, long legs. Aroma: very little aroma. Flavor: a bit harsh, tannic, not very interesting. Worst wine of the night.

Deliciously meaty, already quite mellow and unwound. Paired perfectly with lamb.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
