Low US Retail is updated twice a month and excludes outlier listings. Detailed listings are sourced daily from our partner, Global Wine Stocks, and may include outliers. Note that you can use the 'Report a problem' link which appears after clicking on any individual listing to notify our content team and partner of incorrect wine matches.
Auction prices are based on actual auction results (inclusive of buyerÂ’s premiums) of 750ml bottle sizes only. As auction prices fluctuate from auction to auction and some wines have limited auction activity, the average auction price is updated twice a month and derived from a proprietary algorithm.

Ruby-red. Captivating aromas of raspberry, dark chocolate, mocha, game and sexy oak. Lush on entry, then rich, vinous and deep. Really wonderfully balanced and complete. Finishes with serious but even tannins and outstanding persistence. Lifted on the very back by a faint note of fresh dill.

Very dark and concentrated. Herbal, interesting but not complete. Astringent finish. But at least this has the energy to develop further. Very extracted?

Drink Dates 2001-2016

The dense purple-colored 1998 boasts a beautifully rich, complex perfume of blackberries, plums, lead pencil, cherries, mocha, and caramel. Powerful and rich, with a multilayered texture, and an opulent, viscous finish revealing enough sweet tannin for definition, this is a terrific, full-bodied, seamless effort from one of the world's greatest winemakers.

Solid yet subtle, showing black licorice and earth aromas. Medium- to full-bodied, with silky tannins and a long finish. A beauty. 2,750 cases made.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
