Low US Retail is updated twice a month and excludes outlier listings. Detailed listings are sourced daily from our partner, Global Wine Stocks, and may include outliers. Note that you can use the 'Report a problem' link which appears after clicking on any individual listing to notify our content team and partner of incorrect wine matches.

Auction prices are based on actual auction results (inclusive of buyerÂ’s premiums) of 750ml bottle sizes only. As auction prices fluctuate from auction to auction and some wines have limited auction activity, the average auction price is updated twice a month and derived from a proprietary algorithm.

Good deep red-ruby. Very ripe, slightly rustic aromas of gun flint, leather and licorice. Fat, sweet and rich, with gun flint, leather and mineral flavors. Substantial chewy tannins show a hint of astringency.

The 1997 Barolo was performing well prior to bottling. Broad, sweet, fat flavors with considerable glycerin and alcohol are present in this full-bodied, structured, powerful, muscular Barolo.

Unbelievable quality. Made in serious quantity. Glorious aromas of crushed flowers, prunes, cedar and cigars. Full-bodied, thick and tannic, yet ripe and round, with a sleek, caressing finish. A classic Barolo that is well-priced. 6,200 cases made.

Soft integrated tannins, hot nose, red fruit, little austere, okay but not great

Big, dark red. In magnum. Still young and too early, especially in this size bottle. Currant, berries, oak. Creamy. Do not know if it is just a simple or very young wine!!

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
