Drank it for the 1st time. Not too impressed. Finish was not long. Typical California. All in all, its worth $80 that i paid for.

Dinner at Cafe Ponte with Jeff, Jory and Jere. WOW! Did this knock me out! Such ripe sweetness, such power and finesse, such silk and grip. Plum, smoke, chocolate, etc. etc. Very well balanced and lots of layers of structure. My only reason for not scoring it higher was that the finish was a little short and there was a slightly bitter after taste. This wine will last 10 more years easy. Drink one now and save the rest.

This wine has entered early maturity. Quite supple and suave on the palate with plums, spice, and cassis. Tannins have begun to melt away. Acidity is well integrated.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
