Needed over an hour to find the fruit. Patience was rewarded with a nicely balanced wine. Wouldn't wait much longer to drink.

Reddish brown in color. Aromas of berries parted fairly quickly and gave way to pencil shavings, flint, almost metallic and austere, and somewhat green tannins. Not quite what I had expected. On the palate the same austere feelings came to me, it was like walking in around the trellises during winter! Very thin miserly fruit, cherries, cinnamon tabacco, smoke, green tannins evident, clear minerality and sense of terroir, long finish.

Initial nose quite thin and light. Seems lacking power and concentration. Wait for half an hour and it started to blossom. Elegant, finesse with good power and concentration. Especially like its wood and Asian spices flavor. Very enjoyable.

Medium to full bodied, dark fruits with some spice in abundance. Good length on the finish. Very nice.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
