Best Champagne, by far, Bill and I have drunk. 1993 vintage matches our getting together. Wonderful nose of nuts and yeast, with underlying fruit. Creamy texture, with many very fine bubbles. Tastes fresh, with good acidity. Long finish.

likely past its peak but outstanding nonetheless. Less kick than the 02 that we drank the same night which is kind of interesting. Maybe that is because of the age and maybe not. Both were great in any event!

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
