Puzzled by the other tasting notes. This was still fresh and delicious, with good fruit and a long finish. Excellent and at least a few years left

Drink Dates 2002-2015

Wow! This is the most memorable Robert Mondavi Cabernet I can recall. Dark ruby color with no signs of aging. Elegant blueberry fruit with soft tannins on the palate. Could easily be mistaken for a great Pomerol. Continues to open in the glass and still drinking fabulously after an hour of air. Nice soft finish with hints of mocha.

Drink Dates 2002

This wine is just beginning to drink spectacularly well. The fabulous 1991 Reserve is the quintessential Napa Cabernet that represents a synthesis in style between the elegance of a first-growth Bordeaux and the ripe, intense, generous fruit of Napa Valley. It is just hitting its peak of maturity where it should remain for 10-20 years.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
