This is a special mature rioja. Ripe strawberry and red berry fruit. Framed perfectly with notes of tobacco, bacon fat and brown spices. Finely grained, well-integrated tannins. Silky mouthfeel. Long, lingering finish. This is well-balanced, elegant wine.

Rusty burgundy in color with slight browning on the rim. Very perfumed with cherry, current, and slighlty smokey cedar. The palate is elegant and balanced with a smooth full finish. Tart cherry, current, and cedar with underlying notes of rose peddle and violet. Tasted after a 1.5 hour decant

Garnet with browning at the rim. Tarry red fruits, polish and subtle charred oak on the nose. Pure and elegant with long, well defined dried cherry flavour. Lovely precision and balance with long lingering flavours.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
