Delicious Bordeaux just hitting its stride. After some time in the glass unfolds to reveal core of blackberry and dark berry fruit. Framed by notes of olive tapenade, leather and herbs. Great balance, complexity and depth. Tannins fully integrated but still add structure. Rounded, velvety finish with tremendous length.

Appears "thin" in the glass, soft Bordeaux nose but opens up its aroma after about 45" to a much more classical nose. At first, strong floral overtones on the palate with lavender and rose that persist but then give way to spice; cinnamon and peppery dark berries with a 30 second finish. Good structure, tannins are a plenty.

Silky tannins. Very floral with notes on chocolate. Some pencil shavings on the nose (very slight)

Wow. Dark fruit, casis and cedar come together fabulously in this classic Paulliac wine. I have tasted this wine over the last five years and find it now at it's peak. Drink over the next five years.
