Good color; fairly big nose of black fruit, cedar, and leather which followed through on the palate. A big wine with still significant tannins but enough fruit to balance. A very good bordeaux but lacks the finesse and complexity of the best 89s. Will continue to drink well for several more years.

Still a lovely wine but not quite as nice as the 1985. Creme de cassis, leather, earth and cigar box with a medium finish. Lacking the finess of great 1989s.

Drinking beautifully, classic bordeaux with cedar, leather nuance. Tannins integrated fruit still present. Hard to imagine it could even further improve and seems at peak

Drink Dates 1996-2015

This wine has continuosly improved since I bought it over 20 years ago. Now pretty much on a plateau it is a big mouth filling drink with good finesse and many facettes to the palate. Still carrying a ruby red appearance and with florally nose. On the palate, berry fruits and citrus with a good tannic structure. Spiciness and some floral hints with a good length. This wine still have a good few years ahead of it. Very excellent!

Had 3 bottles at a dinner party with roast lamb. Slight variations but all with the slightly smokey, slightly salty, slight raspberry taste I associate with '89 Bords. The fruit is still in balance with tannins and I would say the wine is fully mature and at its prime. Rich nose and strong, dark color all the way to the edge of the glass. 92-93
