Good color; fairly big nose of black fruit, cedar, and leather which followed through on the palate. A big wine with still significant tannins but enough fruit to balance. Still tastes young and vigorous. A very good bordeaux but lacks the finesse and complexity of the best 89s. Will continue to drink well for several more years.
This wine has continuosly improved since I bought it over 20 years ago. Now pretty much on a plateau it is a big mouth filling drink with good finesse and many facettes to the palate. Still carrying a ruby red appearance and with florally nose. On the palate, berry fruits and citrus with a good tannic structure. Spiciness and some floral hints with a good length. This wine still have a good few years ahead of it. Very excellent!

Had 3 bottles at a dinner party with roast lamb. Slight variations but all with the slightly smokey, slightly salty, slight raspberry taste I associate with '89 Bords. The fruit is still in balance with tannins and I would say the wine is fully mature and at its prime. Rich nose and strong, dark color all the way to the edge of the glass. 92-93
