Georges Roumier married his way into some of the best vineyard holdings in the Cote d'Or, back in 1924. He gained a wife from Chambolle and the vineyards as part of the dowry. Earthy, spicy with a bit of brett on the nose. This bottle was borderline flawed depending on your taste for Brett. Drink now.

Vertical Tasting of 18 Roumier Bonnes Mares from Steven Tanzers Cellar with Steve, sponsored by Acker Merrill at Toqueville. Perfectly good and if it was not in this company, would have been a delight.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
