Red cherry and vegetal notes immediately upon opening. Followed by more sour cherry, cabbage, light peppery notes and blackcurrant jam. Tastes of red cherry, tobacco, leather, light clove and pepper, with an acidic back drop. Still pungent on the nose and long in the mouth. The balance is still towards the fruit although the tannin seems to still be present. Quite complex for its age and very enjoyable.

Drink this up now! Still very good, but changed dramatically in the glass over the course of 2 hours.

Absolutely terrific aged Claret with nice fruit and soft tannins. Complex deep black berry with some spice, cedar and leather nuances. Extremely food friendly with a modest 13% alcohol. Seemed younger than its 20 years.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
