Blackberries, currents, and plums. A hint of smoke. Definite minerarility, especially graphite. Heavy tannins for a long smooth finish.

Drank with good friends over grilled steaks. Delicious! Interestingly, unlike many vintage Bordeauxs which evolve throughout the tasting, this bottle retained its same meaty, spicy flavor for a couple of hours.

Ruby in color. Low rim variation. Slow legs. Mineral, Smokey, Black currant (cassis). Blackberry. Full bodied. Medium/Full bodied. Smooth texture. Long finish. This is a terrific wine but young. The 79 is currently drinking better, but this will be gorgeous in 5 years

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
