Still with a nice vibrant color of a young wine. Aromas of pine meddles, cigar box, raw pork, dusty red berry fruit and dried herbs. On the palate it has a beautiful texture, smooth and balanced. The lack of fruit on the nose is redeemed with plenty on the palate, medium bodied with a persistent tannic grip, medium acidity. Classic Saint Estephe made in that old style of Bordeaux but with a certain opulence that is indicative of the 82 vintage. Medium+ length.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
