Drink Dates

Well, here is the story. We tasted ten old california cabs, with dominus 1983 being the best. Then I opened a magnum of this wine. This was most unbelievable wine, actually would stand well with any of the wines in a St Julien tasting several months ago. This was way better along all the dimensions (balance, body, nuances, subtlety, elegance, aftertaste) than any of california wines -- still have way to go to match the old world charm. Everybody was quite taken out. Of course, it was a magnum.
