Multi Commune blend. Darker, medium brown, sherry like appearance. Richer nose, not not pronounced. But in the mouth it is round, full, soft, fruity and reasonably complex. Very nice. Worth owning. My first Mascarello that was not a Bartolo. This was tasted at an Acker Wine event on 11/4/09 hosted by Antonio Galloni. 13 wines from the 1960s were tasted in 4 flights at dinner at Alto in Manhattan. The wines were double decanted just prior to the tasting, so some of the wines may have need more time and may be rated in range.

Slo-o'd for 3 hrs then drank over the following 2.5 hrs. Wow is this young! Beautiful dark ruby with just a touch of lightening at the rim. Beautiful nose of goudron and candied sour cherries with a touch of earth. Explosive in the mouth, with lots of tannins buffeted by bracing acidity. Beautiful wine, can age for another 10-20yrs easily. ****1/2 / *****
