Excellent, smooth, losts of fruit, balanced tannins

Nose of black fruit and berries. Full bodied, with taste of black cherries, oak, and spice. Just delicious with French cheeses after dinner.

Inky red in color, with aromas of black fruit such as blackberries, black currants (cassis), and black cherries accompanying cedar, fennel, clove, and a hint of menthol. The palate completely follows through on the nose with a wonderful integration of ripe tannins and bright acid. Medium/full bodied with a fleshy texture and long finish, this wine is tasting great right now (12/09); if you have some - enjoy! P.S. An added bonus; this wine matched beautifully with a surprising side dish; roasted sunchokes, also known as Jerusalem artichokes.

Deep, clear red in color and aromatic with black cherry, clove, and cinnamon spice, this is an elegant zinfandel rather as opposed to the bold, heavily oaked juice bombs so often made today. Both styles have their place in the market, but whereas the latter's place is at a party, this Ridge zinfandel's place is on the table. Fruit and acid are nicely balanced; the tannins are still a bit dry and could use a another few years to mellow out in the bottle. A lovely wine.

Surprisingly good with soft tannins, medium body and a lot of character

Dark red colour, rather plain but quaffable cherry-plum and a touch of spice. Not at all unpleasant--and another Opimian "good buy."
