This is a somewhat disappointing wine-very one-dimentional and boring. It was made in a very traditional style. Obviously the Pride reds are much more suited to the winemaker's style. It could have been one of a hundred nondiscript wines from Napa.

**(*) Not as good as previous vintages. Young deep red/purple colour. Ripe fruit on nose. Not too alcoholic but less concentrated than earlier vintages. Would buy and try again.

Oustanding. Easy drinking wine, but more complex than the usual cheap beaujolais.

fresh chard, mild oak

Super-concentrated and strong all over. Intense nose: fruit, leather, minerals (blood - ?). Smoky and spicy (almost medicinal) palate, with great balanced fruit in the finish.

Pure Pinot. Delicious, if a little uninteresting.

I dont think this wine needs an introduction as it is one Parkers highest scoring wines in the history of the Wine Advocate but 2003 was very kind to Galardi. I cannot say enough about this wine as the vintage played right into their hands with a firm, cooling sea influence at night and the solar intensity of 2003 by day. The confluence of climate, sun and soil produced a beverage of immense stature that has the potential to be a legend. From Aglianico and Piedarossa this is as site specific as it gets with the volcanic ash of Mt. Vesuvius playing a big role in this coastal area near Naples.

Gigantic in all ways -- including alcoholic. Inky color; huge peppery zin nose; huge, spicy, woody, concentrated palate; long, somewhat hot, finish. Too much for food. A fine (great?) sipping wine -- Jennifer loves it for writing ... but we both thought it seems almost more like a port than a wine.
