Very tannic... not getting much else...... bottle a bit chilled so will let sit for a while and see what happens...... after another hour, tannins seem leass, a little bit of earthiness, vegetal taste coming out.... will wait for three or four years to drink other bottle

Drank at Ruth's Chris with Dick Nowak, Todd Homa and Bill. WOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOW! Helen Turley is a GODDESS!!!!!! This was amazing. Exquisite nose, crisp, no trace of oak, loads of fruit, just enough minerality and a finish that kept going and going and going. I am impressed! My first Marcassin and definitely NOT my last.

Dinner at Cafe Ponte with Jeff, Jory and Jere. Lots of floral notes on the nose. Taste had apricot and a hint of citrus. Not quite enough minerality but luckily, not too much butter taste either. Oak was present but not overpowering. Wish I had bought a few more bottles of this at the winery. Good job Rudy!!!!!

Good Shit!

Just had this wine and very good, while a bit herbacious, enjoyed layers of friut such as cherry and blackberry within the wine. Good now.

Aromas of dried berry fruits with hints of pepper and spice and some floral. Medium bodied with rustic tannins. Aromatic and flavorful. Length 8-10 sec.

Always very smooth. Oaky/vanilla, slightly chilled. Excellent, buttery finish.

some sense of earthiness.... but acidic, almost tart... noted some cherry/fruit underneath... like to rustic nature, but tartness undermined experience

rich, round but has some medicinal contents . good with meat loaf

Need more time but not as thrilling a wine as a Batard.

Still really youthful in 2005. Approachable but needs 3 more years to reach prime. Excellent.

Full ruby-red. Deep, ripe aromas of currant, black cherry and violet; strongly fruity and floral. Thicker and more concentrated than the Basarin; a broader, deeper wine with more stuffing. Here the substantial, chewy tannins come across as riper and less dry.
