Not very impressed with this wine. Took an hour in the decanter to get past intial toughness. Afterward, mostly laced with strong oak nose and taste. Finish was short. I am usually enamored by the regular Phelps Cab bottling, but in this case I was very disappoionted.

Still in its infancy. Heavy tanins, very backward. Good fruit, but don't try this again until at least 2010.

Tasted June 8th: <br><br> Sergio poured this wine for one of his top clients, along with Solaia 1978 and the Il Poggione 1985 - this wine showed more acidity, more sediment, and more age despite being younger. The sweetness turned to mushroom and earthy notes of wet earth. Weighty with an almost glycerine feel. In addition, I had this next to the IL pOggione 1998 Riserva, which came off to sweet like. The 1999 Riserva is the superior wine, but the 1985 shows me that this is not a wine with the longevity of Biondi Santi, that Talenti indirectly challenged.

Tasted in 2006. Excellent round, soft fruits. Absolutley delicious. Will continue to improve but quite nice right now.

Tasted pretty good with Shaun's chicken and chorizo paella

In 2006 the wine was excellent , but still needed some time to reach it;s full potential. Lovely nose ofbramble and sweet cherry. Red-black fruits on the palate, but finished somewhat astringent. Just give it 3 years and It will be great. Best in 2009.

Really delicious, ready to drink and enjoy now in 2006 but will even get more viscous and honeyed with age.
