Can taste berry... not at all earthy.... keep next bottle for two years for comparison......

slight strawberry flavor comes out over time... taste on top of mouth but not tannic... pleasant but not very complex.... nice long finish

Dinner with Jeff, Mark and Penn at Cafe Ponte. Beautiful wine but still a little closed for me. I'd have to differ with Kris's suggestion that this wine is ready to drink now. Great backbone, lots of tannins still present, and a bit of a sharp finish early on. After about 90 minuters this wine began to open up and showed lots of tar, cassis, smoke and roasted meat characteristics. Still though, I'd give it 5 more years minimum to have it reach the perfect drinking window.

A complex wine, also drank at my wedding. A bit young, could easily go another 10 years. sophisticated nose and a smooth but tannic finish.

10/8/05- agree with the review. This wine was past its prime. Light and pleasant, but nothing special.

Excellent, at peak for sure.

Good Bordeaux. Great, dark color. Fine, if not terribly complex or sweet, nose -- a little woody. Plenty of structure and tannins, but fruit seems to be fading. Jennifer thought it tasted chemicaly -- I think it's just a lot of oak with not so much fruit. Could it be too young? It got quite a bit smoother with an hour's breathing. Try in a year -- but I suspect it will become less and less balanced.

(tasted several days ago): Classic excellent Bordeaux, and delicious with a hearty meal. Not a lot of nuance or mystery, but great to drink.

Powerful wine. Fruit intense cab. Smooth tannins with very good balance. No strong acidity, very drinkable.

In 2005 the woody tannins still remain. Dry and not overyly sweet. Never really got their
